About Us
Hello and welcome to Emerald Dobermans.
I've loved dobermans since meeting Nikka when working at a boarding kennel while in college.
Her regal bearing; her graceful movement; and her 'aloof to strangers' attitude really intrigued me.
I purchased my first doberman, Trux's Toscalight, CD, from a backyard breeder in 1981 and
haven't looked back since! From my two rescues, Randee Boo Ceely, CD, and Tia, (the best
puppy mentor ever) to my 1993/1994 Top 20 finalist, BISS Am/Can/Int'l Ch. Wingate's Miami
Sound Machine, WAC, to Emerald's Babbling Broox ex Tijac - they've all been unique and
wonderful in their own ways.
Through the years, I've meant many wonderful people and have had the opportunity to show, finish,
and special a variety of different breeds of dogs. I was able to support myself as a full-time handler
for several years in the mid-1990's. Now, with a full time job, and a long commute, I generally
show dobermans, and an occasional weimeraner, at selective shows. My limited spare time is spent
training and trialing in both agility and obedience.
